2.3 million people, mostly minorities, are incarcerated in the US, representing over 20% of the global incarcerated population. The prison industrial complex exacerbates this problem; companies lobby to keep prisons full and pay below-market rates to access prison labor.
We collect data and rate companies' impact on racial equity and mass incarceration. Our datasets and ratings make it easy for you to DIVEST from the network of companies who profit from prisons and INVEST in companies with solutions to mass incarceration.
Our movement will 1) starve the prison industrial complex, 2) increase the reputational risk of companies who profit from prisons, 3) reshape corporate behavior and 4) take one giant leap forward in ending mass incarceration.
